How to tell if you’re an authentic leader or if you’re being lead by an authentic leader. When leaders have a servant mentality you make a difference in people’s lives, businesses, families, and health. Always challenge people in your organization to be the best that they can be.
Success Habits
Hey Gang, It’s Coach Ed.
Just want to bring you up to speed on what’s happened this past Saturday. I was at ACAC Health and Wellness Club in West Chester, which by the way is a fantastic club. And we had some great minds there, some great trainers, great real estate agents, some moms- it was really neat!
What we walked away with were some things that very successful people do.
Habits
We talked about daily affirmations in the morning, vision work (which is thinking about what you would like your life to be like in a year, five years, or next month), and exercise and nutrition.
Your Top Five
Who are the top five people who you are around all the time who influence you? We all know that we become what we’re surrounded by. So be very conscious about that.
Your Behavior Assessment (or DISC test)
You can go to the Anthony Robbins website which I’ve talked about before and get your Behavior Assessment so you can work in your strength zone giving you everlasting energy all the time.
Measuring Progress- Use a progress wheel or a wheel of life
Hire the right coach or accountability partner. Somebody who knows you, somebody you trust and somebody that sees you bigger than you see yourself.
Take time to do a 3 month, one year, and five year “someday goals”.
We looked at some of the agents I work with here at Keller Williams and it was so cool to see their progress after doing these for three months. We have agents that are up 120%, 200%, 300% on their production on just this first half of the year. That’s awesome! More importantly, they’re happy, they’re healthy, and they have energy.
So go get it! Have a great day! Just get 2% better today, live life and live your dreams!
Seven Minute Exercise
Lots of people think that if they want to exercise then they have to join a gym, commit to two hours a day, work out 6 days a week…
What I’m here to tell is what I see other people doing that has brought me to some success in my life staying in shape.
That is “Do Something”
I think that sometimes we’re misguided that a good walk is exercise. Although it is better than sitting on the couch, its not going to give us what we want as far as weight loss, muscle mass, feeling better, and burning calories. Its only going to take you so far, but it is a good start
There is something that I’ve developed, I call it the seven minute workout. Its not to substitute going to the gym or going out for a long run, but what it does- it allows us to exercise almost everyday
Here it is:
1. Go out and get a Rebounder. its a little trampoline, its about 3ft in diameter. and what you want to do is when you wake up, hop on that and just lightly go up and down on it for about 3-4 minutes
for the first minute you’re going to think:
“This guy is crazy, this isn’t working”
but about minute two you’ll notice that your quads are going to start burning, you’ll start huffing and puffing (its a cardio workout)
You’ll do that for about 3-4 minutes
2. Hop off and then immediately go into a wall squat. You simply sit against a wall like your sitting on a chair. This’ll burn the biggest muscle of your body, your quad, completely out.
So you’ve had a bit of a cardio workout, you’ve burnt the biggest muscle of your body out…
3. Now go into a push-up position. Whether you want to do it on your knees or regular, doesn’t really matter. You want to do it in a “Static contraction ” position. That means go down about half way and hold it as long as you can.
And there’s your seven minute work out!
Its going to get your endorphins flowing, its going to get your cardio going a bit, you’re better off doing that than nothing, but make sure you get to gym or out for a run because that is where you’re going get the results.
Get on it, have fun doing it, feel better doing it!
Avoiding Stress
“Avoiding Stress”
Hey Gang!
Its Coach Ed again, in my last video I talked to you about working in your strength zone and going to TonyRobbins.com and getting your behavioral assessment. That’s awesome, but to piggy back off that, the price that we pay for not working in our strength zone is stress.
Now I think we all know that stress is the number one contributor to bad health and aging and what I look at is how it zaps us from our energy. So if we’re not working within our strength zone, or not working in an environment that we were created to work in, its going to take a toll on our body. We’re going to run out of energy, we’re going to be useless when we go home at night and that’s not what we were created to do. It’ll take a toll on our adrenal glands, a toll on our weight and our health on our oxygen intake and on our immune system.
I wanted to go back and piggy back on that last video. Take that behavior assessment and see if you are working in your strength zone. Its real important, not only professionally, but personally. So make sure you do that today, get on it, make sure you’re working in your strength zone, be less stressed, be happier and be healthier- have great day!
Your Strength Zone
“Your Strength Zone”
Hey gang, its coach Ed here, hope you’re having a great day so far. What I would love to talk to you about today is working in your strength zone.
But first a question I would like to ask, “Are you where you want to be in life?” and more importantly, “Are you making progress?” If you’re not, it may be because you’re not within your strength zone.
If you are, maybe your can tweak that by 4% or 5% by looking at where you were best and most effective. Something I do personally once a year is I ask all my coaching clients and real estate agents is take what is called a DISC profile or some kind of behavior assessment. This will show us where we operate best naturally and when we’re under stress. What I do is get together with my agents and clients and I evaluate the test and we go over it and I ask questions to validate is this true, is this not true, what do you think about this? And we come up with a conclusion of where we operate best.
I’ve just come across a great website from someone I’ve been following for a while but a new addition to it and its my hero Tony Robbins, so if you got to Tonyrobbins.com on the right hand side you’ll see “Experiences” so if you click on that there’s a behavioral assessment and DISC profile which will create a 30 page evaluation it is absolutely awesome so do yourself a favor, it doesn’t cost anything, and it will create a PDF in 5 mins, it takes about 20 mins to take and do that today, have somebody validate it with you and go over it with you and you see where you’re strength zone is.
What I know is that somebody like myself, I’m just a big ball of energy and I want to run run run, and some coaches over the years have said “Ed you’re really good at that but you really need to start paying attention to details” That didn’t work real well for me. And when I came into an environment that said why would you do that? You have this strength and you leverage the detail part or just try to improve it a little bit.
In other words, Focus on your strengths and manage your weaknesses. Give that a try, I’d love to hear from you! Make it a great day and remember to work within your strength zone.
